Midweek Meditation

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Father, King of Glory, the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent One, we pause everything in our lives right now to give you honor, and to give you praise. You alone are worthy to be worshipped and adored. There is none like you in all of heaven, earth, under the earth, above the stars, moons or galaxies. You are God and God alone. Blessed be your holy and righteous name. 

Lord, we are honored to have been chosen to serve you today. We note our unworthiness; and repent for all unrighteousness, unpreparedness, fear or frightfulness within our carnal hearts and minds. Cover us Lord we pray. Strengthen our resolve, and fortify our faith. Make us all that you desire us to be. We want to be holy, we want to be righteous, we want to be completely yours. 

Holy Spirit, descend upon us now we pray. Rain down your anointing from heaven on high. Bless us, baptize us, shower and saturate us with the anointing. Speak to our hearts as we work in your vineyard today: calling countless souls to repentance and salvation. Have mercy upon us and make your name great in the earth. These things we solicit in the matchless name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
