Midweek Meditation

What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer! 

Father, we bring our all to the altar this morning, sparing nothing. We bring our tests, our trials, our temptations and our testimonies. We bring our dreams, ambitions, aspirations and selfish ways to you in exchange for your holy purpose. We surrender our will and our ways. We abandon our lives in favor of Kingdom living. Glory to your holy name. 

Lord, have your way in us now we pray. Let the light from heaven shine upon us. Illuminate our darkened hearts and minds. Allow the rays from glory to encapsulate our mortal bodies and give us strength. Strengthen us to live according to your divine guidance, statutes, and design. We are your people, your children, your chosen property and eternal inheritance. 

Holy Spirit, we lift our hands in celebration for all that you are accomplishing in us. You brought us out of the miry clay of sin and degradation. You placed our feet on the firm foundation. You sought us out when we were still enemies of the cross and combatants of your holiness. You delivered us and made us friends. You are are soul’s delight and our heart’s desire; and for this we give you praise. It’s in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray.
