August 29th: Prayer for Our Children
Father, we pray today for our children, fully aware that these are Your servants loaned to us to nurture, train and provide for. We pray today for their protection and safety in the days, weeks and months ahead, as many return to school and community.
Lord, we pray each of them excel in every endeavor You place them in. We pray they continue to be lights in the darkness and beacons of hope in these hopeless times.
Holy Spirit, allow what we’ve taught them at home, and they’ve learned in church to guide them. Moreover, let Your Spirit lead, instruct, encourage and motivate every one of them to greatness in You and in every heavenly inspired endeavor.
In Jesus name. Amen
August 30th: Prayer for Those Incarcerated
Father, we pray today for the many men and women incarcerated - languishing behind prison walls. Your Word admonishes us to visit and care for them. You specifically and directly mentioned them, yet very often they are not even on our minds. Forgive us for our neglect, and bless them irrespective of our indifference.
Lord, protect, provide, nurture and comfort every one of your children in prison cells. Keep their hearts and minds uplifted. Keep their bodies strong. And most of all, keep their faith firmly rooted in You. Please know my brothers and sisters that he or she whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
Holy Spirit, console the hearts of those that broken. Let Your presence offset and abate the loneliness, abandonment and fear. Moreover, Lord replace every garment of heaviness, every stigma and sense of disgrace with garments of praise, victory and forgiveness. These things we ask, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
August 31st: Prayer for the Sick
Father, we pause today to ask for mercy on behalf of our sisters and brothers that are ailing. The pain of sickness can often be so intense it doesn’t allow for clarity of thought or expression. So, we pray now for those in hospital beds, in critical condition, urgent care, hospice or suffering at home. We seek Your inexhaustible grace, and limitless kindness on their behalf. Glory to Your name.
Lord, use us as intercessors and ambassadors of Your great love. Let Your healing virtues flow from our hearts, Your words of deliverance fall from our lips, and Your anointing race to each and every person in need.
Holy Ghost, we need You now. Please hear our cries, and answer our petitions according to Your great power, wisdom, compassion and concern. These things we ask in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
September 1st: Prayer for the Broken Hearted
Father, we pray for all our brothers and sisters suffering from broken hearts…Hearts heavy laden with grief, depression, loneliness, anxiety, sadness, misery and pain. As hard as we try, there is very little we can do or say to ease their burdens. But Father, we know that You can.
Lord, we solicit Your help. We beg of You to demonstrate Your great kindness and gentle mercies toward our friends, family and even our foes facing peril and unspeakable woes at the hand of overwhelming grief.
Holy Spirit, make their burdens light, and pathways bright. Please heal them. Make them whole. Encourage. Inspire. Uplift. And mend every brokenness within their spirits, souls and minds. These things we ask to the honor and glory of Jesus Christ our King.
Amen
September 2nd: Prayer for the Unbeliever
Father, we pray today for every unbeliever; every atheist, agnostic, doubter, and backslider. We pray for those that have never had the privilege of hearing Your eternal Word, or experiencing Your everlasting love. We pray for those lost in sin, riddled with the cares of this world and it’s darkness. We pray they may all come into Your great light.
Lord, we lament for every wayward soul; and repent for our inaction, or lack of adequate action to bring the Gospel to them.
Holy Spirit, help us now to reach, teach, care for, and love those that have yet to surrender to Your affection, kindness and salvation. We beg of You on their behalf for Your saving grace. As You have done for us, please do for them. Have mercy. Show kindness. Please, save us all. These things we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
September 3rd: Prayer for the Persecuted Church
Father, we earnestly pray, and seek Your divine protection for our sisters and brothers around the world facing unimaginable persecution. We pray against the hatred, violence, cruelty and blatant disregard for the lives and dignity of Your precious children.
Help them Lord. Bring justice where there is none. Establish peace where there is chaos. Let Your love replace the brutality, cruelty and barbaric acts perpetrated by misguided evil regimes and godless leaders.
Holy Spirit, cover Your loved ones under the cloak of Your anointing. Continue to strengthen them with a resolve that’s beyond our comprehension and understanding. Meet them at their place of need, and grant them victory in every situation. These things we ask to the glory and honor of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
